T.K. Program

Welcome to the Museum School Transitional Kindergarten Program

At the Museum School, we are proud to offer our Transitional Kindergarten (T.K.) Program—a free, enriching educational experience designed specifically for 4-year-old children. Our T.K. Program prepares students for success by providing a strong foundation in early learning, helping them build essential academic and social skills that will set them up for a smooth transition into Kindergarten.

Our T.K. Program operates on a 6-hour daily schedule, closely aligned with our Kindergarten curriculum, ensuring a seamless continuation of learning as students advance. Through a combination of hands-on activities, exploration, and individualized support, students gain the confidence and readiness they need for the next steps in their education journey.

As we embark on our first year of offering the T.K. Program, we are excited to share that we will be transitioning to a full Universal Transitional Kindergarten (U.T.K.) program in the 2025-26 school year. This transition will allow us to expand our offerings and ensure that all 4-year-olds in our community have access to a high-quality early education experience. We look forward to growing with our families and providing even more opportunities for young learners in the years to come!

T.K. Hangout

TK Hangout at the Museum School provides a convenient and supportive space for our transitional kindergarten students after dismissal. We understand that many families have multiple children enrolled with us, so we offer an additional hour of care—completely free—from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM for families with multiple students on campus. This ensures that parents don’t have to manage multiple pickup times. TK Hangout runs every school day except Thursdays, making afternoons smoother for our families while providing a safe and engaging environment for our youngest learners.

What’s the Difference Between Transitional Kindergarten (T.K.) and Universal Transitional Kindergarten (U.T.K.)?

While both T.K. and U.T.K. are designed for children who are not yet old enough for Kindergarten, there are some key differences:
